Cultural Managers Scholarship in Peru 2025 Call

Are you a passionate woman working in cultural management in Peru? Do you dream of amplifying your impact in your community through specialized training? The 7th Edition of the Cultural Managers Scholarship is your chance to turn that dream into reality!

UNESCO Peru, in partnership with the Lima Art Museum (MALI), Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University (UARM), the Graduate School of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), and Universidad Científica del Sur (Científica), proudly launches the 2025 call for the Cultural Managers Scholarship, with continued support from the Ministry of Culture and generous funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

What’s the Goal?

The scholarship is designed to reduce gender gaps in Peru’s cultural sector by providing full and partial scholarships to women cultural managers working independently, in civil society organizations, or within public entities. The goal? To professionalize and empower women leading cultural change in their communities—especially those from outside Metropolitan Lima and underrepresented groups including Indigenous, Afro-Peruvian, and disabled women.

Since its inception in 2020, the scholarship has already supported 28 women from 10 regions in Peru—contributing directly to the sustainability and innovation of arts, heritage, and culture at the grassroots level.

What Does the Scholarship Offer?

In this seventh edition, a total of 11 full scholarships will be awarded as follows:

  • Lima Art Museum (MALI): 4 full scholarships
  • Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University (UARM): 2 full scholarships
  • Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC): 3 full scholarships
  • Universidad Científica del Sur (Científica): 2 full scholarships

Additionally, half-scholarships will be offered by MALI and UPC’s Graduate School to high-ranking applicants in the selection process.

Each scholarship supports participation in high-quality cultural management programs designed to help women lead impactful, sustainable cultural initiatives across Peru.

Who Can Apply?

  • Women cultural managers residing in Peru
  • Currently working independently, in NGOs, or public entities
  • Committed to cultural development and community impact
  • Priority is given to applicants outside Lima and those from special protection groups

Each applicant must choose only one institution and program to apply to, so reviewing course details and ensuring alignment with your goals is key.
