World Forum for Democracy Youth Delegation Fellowship 2025 Open for Applications
Strasbourg is calling! Young changemakers from around the world now have the chance to apply for a fully funded opportunity to take part in the World Forum for Democracy 2025, held by the Council of Europe. This prestigious event will take place in Strasbourg, France from November 3 to 8, 2025, bringing together policy-makers, youth leaders, activists, and innovators to address one of today’s most pressing questions: “Democracy at risk: how can we revive it?”
What is the World Forum for Democracy?
Organized annually at the Council of Europe headquarters, this global event is a platform where young voices meet decision-makers to tackle challenges to democracy. It offers inspirational talks, breakout sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities—all focused on creating real solutions to defend democratic values in the face of rising global threats.
In 2025, the Forum will explore how democracy can be strengthened amidst rising inequality, digital threats, declining trust, and political disengagement.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for this life-changing experience, you must:
- Be aged 18 to 30.
- Be able to communicate and work in English.
- Be actively involved in youth organisations or initiatives working on democracy, civic engagement, media, human rights, or digital innovation.
- Be motivated to contribute ideas on how to revive democracy.
- Be available to attend the entire programme (arriving in Strasbourg on November 2 and departing on November 8, 2025).
Participants from Council of Europe member states and all world regions are welcome, with a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and gender balance.
What’s Covered?
If selected, you won’t pay a cent! The Council of Europe will cover:
- Full travel costs (including visa fees, reimbursed with receipts).
- Accommodation and meals at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg.
- Participation in all events, including workshops, breakout sessions, and special youth-led activities.
- Pre-Forum training and networking sessions on November 3–4 to prepare youth delegates for active roles during the Forum.
This opportunity also includes access to influential speakers, international peers, and the chance to speak up for your generation at one of the most important global platforms for democratic dialogue.
