Bioscience Engineering Fee Waiver Scholarship 2026 at KU Leuven

In an exciting announcement for future bioscience leaders, KU Leuven’s prestigious Faculty of Bioscience Engineering has unveiled its Bioscience Engineering Fee Waiver scholarship opportunity for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The initiative is aimed at empowering brilliant students from eligible non-EEA countries with reduced tuition fees to pursue cutting-edge Master’s programmes in bioscience engineering fields directly aligned with solving global challenges—such as food security, sustainable ecosystems, human health, and water resource management.

What the Scholarship Covers?

Instead of paying the standard tuition fee of €9,325.3 per year, selected students will only need to pay a reduced annual fee of €3,039.7—making world-class education significantly more affordable. These partial tuition fee waivers will be valid for 1 academic year, and an unlimited number of eligible students may benefit from the offer.

Eligible Master’s Programmes

Students can apply for the fee waiver if admitted to any of the following top-tier international Master’s programmes at KU Leuven:

  • Master of Bioinformatics
  • Master of Bioscience Engineering: Human Health Engineering
  • Master of Bioscience Engineering: Cellular and Genetic Engineering
  • Master of Bioscience Engineering: Agro- and Ecosystems Engineering
  • Master of Water Resources Engineering
  • Master of Food Technology.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is exclusively for non-EEA nationals from countries on the OECD-DAC list of ODA recipients, including:

  • All Programmes: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Sudan, Yemen, and many others.
  • Water Resources Engineering & Food Technology (additional eligible countries): Kenya, Indonesia, South Africa, Philippines, Zimbabwe, among others.

Applicants must have completed their first degree in one of the eligible countries and meet all admission requirements for their chosen program.
