About the VinGroup Next Program
Established by Vingroup and administered by VinUniversity, this prestigious scholarship seeks to identify and empower outstanding Vietnamese talent, equipping them with global academic experience to contribute meaningfully to Vietnam’s advancement in science and technology.
Starting with the 2026 cohort, the program is exclusively open to doctoral applicants (Track 1 and Track 2). Prospective candidates must apply for the Vingroup Scholarship before applying to their desired PhD programs abroad for the academic year 2026–2027.
What Does the VinGroup Would Scholarship Cover?
This scholarship is fully funded and co-financed with the scholar’s host university. The support package includes:
- Full tuition fees and miscellaneous academic costs
- Living stipend throughout the duration of the program
- Health insurance
- Allowances for relocation and study materials
- Visa application fee
- Membership in the exclusive Vingroup Scholars Network, with access to professional development and networking opportunities.
Supported Universities & Study Fields
IMPORTANT: Applicants must apply to targeted universities and within the pre-approved fields of study or research areas supported by the program.

- Supported Fields – focused on areas critical to Vietnam’s future scientific and technological progress (STEM, health sciences, AI, clean energy, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be of Vietnamese nationality
- Hold an excellent academic record (minimum GPA requirements apply)
- Demonstrate English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent)
- Possess a relevant educational background
- Have professional or research experience aligned with their desired field
- Show strong motivation to contribute to Vietnam after graduation.

Application Timeline – Track 1 (Cohort 2026)
The Vingroup Science & Technology Scholarship Program for Doctoral Degrees will officially launch its 2026 cohort with an opening announcement in December 2025. Interested applicants can begin submitting their online applications starting at 12:00 PM (Vietnam Time) on 1 December 2025. Make sure to complete and submit your application by the final deadline of 6:00 PM (Vietnam Time) on 15 April 2026.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews, scheduled to take place from late April to early May 2026, with the final results announced by mid-May 2026. Selected scholars will be celebrated during a Scholarship Award Ceremony and Pre-departure Orientation in early July 2026, followed by medical examinations and visa processing starting the same month. All scholars will then embark on their international academic journey in the Fall 2026 intake.
