CAPES Humboldt Research Fellowship 2025 25th Call of Applications
Brazilian researchers now have an exceptional opportunity to advance their academic careers in Germany through the CAPES-Humboldt Research Fellowship 25th batch, jointly offered by the Brazilian research funding agency CAPES and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Applications are open for postdoctoral and experienced researchers from all fields to conduct independent research in collaboration with a German host institution of their choice.
About the Fellowship
Launched in 2013, this fellowship programme enables highly qualified Brazilian researchers to pursue research in Germany for 6–24 months (postdocs) or 6–18 months (experienced researchers), with the flexibility to divide the stay into up to three visits within three years. It aims to foster international academic collaboration and supports diversity, encouraging applications from women and underrepresented groups.
CAPES Funding and Benefits
Fellows receive a generous stipend, along with additional benefits for partners, children, and research costs.
- Postdoctoral Researchers: €2,700/month

Eligibility Criteria
For Postdoctoral Researchers:

- Completed PhD within the last 4 years.
- Strong publication record in internationally reviewed journals or publishers.
For Experienced Researchers:

- Completed PhD within the last 12 years.
- Extensive, high-quality research output.
General Requirements:

- Brazilian nationality and residency.
- Host institution in Germany with confirmed research facilities.
- Commitment to scientific ethics and rules of good scientific practice.

Application Process

For Call 25, applications open 2 June 2025 and close 28 November 2025. Successful applicants can start their research between September 2026 and May 2027.
