About the Scholarship

The Bradford Futures Scholarship stands as a symbol of hope and progress for students who aspire to achieve greatness despite challenges. This undergraduate scholarship aims to support deserving full-time students who demonstrate outstanding potential and align with the University’s Widening Participation Plan.

If you’re stepping into higher education for the first time, this scholarship can be the launchpad for your academic and personal success. With a cash award of £1,500 per year, students can focus more on learning and less on financial stress—all while being recognized for their hard work and determination.

Scholarship Value & Duration

  • Value: £1,500 per academic year
  • Duration: Up to 4 years (depending on the course length)
  • Mode of Payment: Direct cash payment to the scholarship winner

That’s up to £6,000 over the duration of your degree—a significant contribution toward living expenses or study costs!


Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is open to new undergraduate students entering their first year or foundation year in the 2025/26 academic session. To qualify, you must be a home-fee-paying student enrolled full-time in any undergraduate program at the University of Bradford.

But that’s not all—Bradford believes in celebrating diversity and inclusion! To be eligible, applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • From a low participation area as defined by POLAR 4 (Quintile 1 & 2).
  • Have a low household income or low socioeconomic status.
  • Identify as a BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) student.
  • Live with a disability.
  • Be a young carer, care leaver, or estranged from parents.
  • Hold refugee or asylum seeker status (and not already receiving a Sanctuary Scholarship).
  • Be an adult learner aged 25 or above.

This scholarship is all about recognizing the power of perseverance, diversity, and dedication.
