Home Postgraduate Scholarship 2026 at University of Westminster

The University of Westminster has officially announced its Home Postgraduate Part Fee Scholarship 2026, offering a financial boost to Home fee students beginning their postgraduate studies in January 2026. This opportunity aims to make postgraduate education more accessible by supporting academically talented UK students pursuing full-time or part-time Master’s degrees.

Scholarship Overview

The Home Postgraduate Part Fee Scholarship provides a one-off tuition fee award of £2,000, paid directly to the University towards tuition fees for the first semester. This benefit applies to both full-time and part-time students, ensuring flexibility for those balancing professional or personal commitments alongside their academic ambitions.

Students enrolled in two-year postgraduate or part-time programs will receive the award for their first year only, allowing them to reduce their initial study costs and ease the financial transition into postgraduate education.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be classified as a Home fee student (UK-based fee status).
  • Hold an offer of admission for a full-time or part-time Master’s degree at the University of Westminster, beginning in January 2026.
  • Possess a minimum of a 2.1 Honours degree from a recognized institution.

Applicants must also ensure they do not already possess a postgraduate qualification, as those holding a master’s or equivalent degree are ineligible to apply. Certain courses are excluded from this scholarship opportunity, including:

  • Postgraduate Diploma programs
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., RIBA Part III, ACCA, CIMA, CiLEX)
  • Conversion courses (e.g., Graduate Diploma in Law)
  • Integrated Masters, MPhil, or PhD programs.

Selection and Evaluation

The scholarship selection process at Westminster is competitive and based primarily on academic merit and the quality of the personal statement. Applicants are encouraged to craft a compelling statement that demonstrates their academic strengths, motivation for pursuing postgraduate study, and potential contributions to their field and community.

While the number of scholarships available is variable, the university remains committed to supporting as many qualified Home students as possible through this annual initiative.

Application Process and Deadline

Eligible candidates must submit their scholarship application after securing an offer for a January 2026 master’s program. The application deadline for the Home Postgraduate Part Fee Scholarship is 3 November 2025.

Applications should include all required supporting documents, and candidates are advised to review the full Terms and Conditions on the University of Westminster’s official scholarships webpage before submission.

Why Apply?

With rising tuition fees and living expenses, this scholarship provides much-needed support for UK students eager to pursue advanced education without excessive financial strain. By recognizing both merit and ambition, the University of Westminster continues to promote academic excellence and inclusivity within the postgraduate community.
