Morehead State University (MSU) Scholarships 2026 Open

Morehead State University (MSU) in the United States has officially announced its 2026 full-tuition scholarship programs, designed to recognize academic excellence and community leadership among new students worldwide.

The Morehead university’s latest announcement reaffirms its mission to make higher education both accessible and rewarding for deserving students who demonstrate talent, service, and initiative. Dr. Heidi Reid, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, emphasized that these scholarships represent MSU’s dedication to “empowering future leaders who will make a lasting impact in Kentucky and beyond.”

For Fall 2026 entry, MSU is offering four major full-tuition awards — the George M. Luckey, Jr. Honors Scholarship, Governor’s Award+, Eagle Opportunity Scholarship, and YMCA Eagle SOAR Scholarship. The Honors Scholarship, MSU’s most high paying academic award, provides comprehensive support including full tuition, housing, meals, funds for textbooks, and financial assistance for study-abroad opportunities. Applicants must be admitted to the George M. Luckey, Jr. Academic Honors Program and demonstrate high academic performance, leadership qualities, and community engagement through an essay, interview, and work samples.

The Governor’s Award+ and Governor’s Award are specifically designed for graduates of Kentucky’s Governor’s Scholars, School for the Arts, or School for Entrepreneurs programs. The top-tier Governor’s Award+ covers full tuition for applicants with an ACT score of 25 and a GPA of 3.5, while the Governor’s Award provides $8,000 annually for those with an ACT score of 23 and a GPA of 3.5.

For students with a strong record of community service, MSU also offers the Eagle Opportunity Scholarship and YMCA Eagle SOAR Scholarship, each covering full tuition for up to eight consecutive semesters. Eligible candidates must be unconditionally admitted as first-year or transfer students with fewer than 24 credit hours, demonstrate a consistent record of community involvement, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and remain enrolled full-time while residing on campus.

Applications are open to all incoming first-year and transfer students globally who wish to study at Morehead State University. The deadline to submit both the general university admission and specific scholarship applications is December 1, 2025. These full-tuition scholarships mark a significant opportunity for international and U.S. students alike to pursue their academic dreams at one of Kentucky’s most student-focused universities for the Fall 2026 intake.
