What This Opportunity Is About?
The Tyndall & IPIC Summer Fellowship is a prestigious 12-week paid summer research fellowship hosted by Tyndall National Institute, IPIC (the SFI Centre for Photonics), and MCCI. It is designed to give undergraduate STEM students an immersive research experience, combining laboratory work, mentorship, commercialization training, communication workshops, and exposure to world-class facilities.
For 2026, the programme continues to attract Ireland-based students from all STEM fields and will also provide five exclusive seats for STEM undergraduates from the EU to undertake NanoIC research projects. Eligibility Checks for Applicants
Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the following requirements:
For Ireland-Based Applicants
- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled at a university or institute of technology in the Republic of Ireland
- Must be studying any STEM discipline
For EU-Based Applicants (Non-Ireland)
- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled at a recognized university within the European Union
- Must be applying specifically for a NanoIC project
- Only five places are available for EU students
