LLB and LLB for Graduates Scholarships 2026 Now Open at University of Birmingham

International students aiming to begin a law career in the United Kingdom now have a valuable opportunity to fund their studies. Birmingham Law School has officially opened its LLB and LLB for Graduates Scholarships for September 2026 entry, offering annual tuition fee discounts for a select group of outstanding applicants. This article explains everything students need to know—from the scholarship value and offerings to eligibility requirements, application process, and key deadlines.

These scholarships form part of the university’s wider commitment to making world-class legal education accessible to talented students from all backgrounds. The awards will remain open for applications until 30 April 2026, and are exclusively available for new undergraduate students ready to begin their legal studies in the 2026–2027 academic year.

What This Scholarship Offers?

Each year, Birmingham Law School awards 10 competitive scholarships, each providing a £3,000 annual tuition fee discount. The funding is applied directly towards tuition fees at the start of every academic year and continues throughout the LLB programme, subject to academic performance.

The benefits include:

  • £3,000 per year applied as a fee reduction
  • Renewable for all years of study, provided the student maintains a minimum 2:1 (60%+) each year
  • Open to applicants across all LLB pathways, including:
    • LLB Law
    • LLB for Graduates
    • LLB with Criminology
    • LLB with Business
    • Other variations offered by Birmingham Law School

This financial support can significantly reduce the overall cost of studying in the UK, making it a strong incentive for academically strong international applicants.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for the LLB and LLB for Graduates Scholarship for 2026 entry, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be classified as an overseas fee-paying student.

  • Must apply to a full-time LLB programme at Birmingham Law School starting September 2026.
  • Must receive an offer and select the University of Birmingham as their firm choice on UCAS.
  • Must meet all academic conditions of their offer.
  • Must be self-funded, with the ability to cover all remaining tuition fees and living expenses.

This scholarship is available to applicants from any country, provided they are classified as international for fee purposes.

How to Apply?

Applicants must complete the online scholarship application form provided on the University of Birmingham’s official website. Only students who have already applied for a qualifying LLB programme and hold a conditional or unconditional offer are eligible to submit the scholarship form.

Additional notes:

  • The scholarship cannot be deferred to future intakes.
  • Students fully funded by another organisation are not eligible.
  • Awardees may be asked to participate in ambassadorial and promotional activities for the university.

When Will Results Be Announced?

The university will release scholarship decisions by late July 2026. Successful applicants will receive confirmation and have the fee reduction applied automatically during enrolment in September 2026.

Due to high application volume, the university does not provide individual feedback. Applicants who do not receive communication by 31 July 2026 are considered unsuccessful.
