The University of Maine has opened its International Scholarships for the Spring 2026 intake, offering guaranteed, admissions-based financial support to high-achieving students planning to begin their undergraduate studies in the 2026–2027 academic cycle.
This opportunity falls under the Flagship Scholars Commitment Program, a merit-based scholarship scheme designed specifically for international undergraduate students. What makes this program stand out is its simplicity: there is no separate scholarship application. Eligible students are automatically considered for these awards at the time they apply for admission to the University of Maine.
What This Opportunity Is All About?
The Flagship Scholars Commitment Program rewards strong academic performance at the high school level. Scholarship amounts are determined during the admission review process and are based on a student’s high school GPA and the rigor of completed coursework. These scholarships aim to make a U.S. education more affordable by offering multi-year financial commitments that remain stable throughout the student’s degree, provided renewal conditions are met.
Scholarship Offerings for Spring 2026
International students admitted for the Spring 2026 intake may be considered for the following awards:

Flagship Match Commitment

Flagship Leaders Commitment

These scholarships are renewable for up to four years (or eight semesters, up to 120 credits), making them a long-term financial support option for undergraduate study at UMaine.
