Agri Scholarships 2026 by Canada Governments and Saskatchewan Province

The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan have officially announced the opening of applications for the 2026 Agriculture Student Scholarship, designed to recognize and support the next generation of agricultural leaders. This initiative aims to encourage young students to explore innovative ideas and sustainable practices that can shape the future of the agriculture industry.


About the Scholarship

The Agriculture Student Scholarship is a yearly initiative jointly funded by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP). This five (05) year program (2023–2028), with an investment of $3.5 billion, focuses on enhancing the competitiveness, innovation, and resilience of Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sectors. It includes $1 billion in federal programs and a $2.5 billion cost-shared investment between federal and provincial governments.

2026 Theme: “Solutions to Challenges in Agriculture”

This year’s scholarship theme encourages students to explore and present innovative solutions to challenges in the agriculture sector. Applicants are invited to discuss topics such as:

  • Sustainable and climate-smart farming practices
  • Use of advanced technologies (e.g., AI, automation, precision agriculture)
  • Enhancing food security and supply chain resilience
  • Improving soil health and water management
  • Innovative ideas for promoting youth involvement in agriculture

Participants can choose between a 3-minute creative video or a 1,000-word essay to showcase their vision for a stronger and more sustainable agricultural future in Saskatchewan.


Agricultural Scholarship Package

There are four (4) total scholarships available for the 2026 competition:

These awards recognize outstanding creativity, forward-thinking perspectives, and a strong commitment to shaping the future of agriculture.


Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is open to:

  • Saskatchewan students currently in Grade 12, and
  • Recent high school or GED graduates entering agriculture-related post-secondary programs in Fall 2026.

Applicants should demonstrate an interest in agriculture, innovation, and sustainability.


Application Deadline

The last date to apply for the 2026 Agriculture Student Scholarship is March 1, 2026. Students are encouraged to apply early and take this opportunity to share their ideas on advancing agriculture in Saskatchewan.
