Air and Space Forces Scholarships 2025 Announced
For decades, the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) has stood as a pillar of support for our nation’s Airmen, Guardians, and their families. Whether it’s funding college tuition, advancing careers, or helping spouses and children achieve their academic dreams, AFA’s commitment to education is unwavering.
In 2024, the AFA awarded over $110,000 through 11 unique scholarships, and they’re back again for 2025 with even more opportunities. Applications are now open for the 2024-2025 scholarship cycle, and they’re inviting Airmen, Guardians, their spouses, and children to apply for funding to turn their educational aspirations into reality. List of New AFA Scholarships for 2025
The AFA offers 11 different scholarships, each uniquely tailored to meet the needs of Air and Space Force families. Here’s a closer look:
1# Colonel Aaron Burgstein Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000 annually
- Eligibility: Minor dependents of Active, Guard, Reserve, veteran, or retired service members pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university.
2. Captain Jodi Callahan Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $2,000
- Eligibility: USAF/USSF Active Duty, Guard, or Reserve personnel pursuing a master’s degree in a non-technical field.
3. Lt. Col. Romeo and Josephine Bass Ferretti Scholarship
- Amount: $5,000
- Eligibility: Minor dependents of Air and Space Force enlisted personnel pursuing an undergraduate STEM degree.
4. Mike & Gail Donley Spouse Scholarships
- Amount: $2,500 annually
- Eligibility: Air Force or Space Force spouses pursuing higher education.
5. Col. Loren J. and Mrs. Lawona R. Spencer Scholarship
- Amount: $5,000 (three awards)
- Eligibility: Air Force personnel (Active Duty, civilian, or full-time National Guard/Reserve) pursuing graduate-level education in management or administration.
6. John C. and Blanche Lee Lindsay Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $2,500
- Eligibility: Children of Air Force members pursuing a college degree.
7. Delta Dental Grants
- Amount: $2,000 (five awards)
- Eligibility: Military spouses, dependents, and transitioning service members focused on oral health and wellness.
8. Dr. Sydell Perlmutter Gold Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $5,000 annually (renewable up to $20,000)
- Eligibility: Daughters of Active, Guard, or Reserve Air Force members pursuing STEM bachelor’s degrees.
9. Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000
- Eligibility: Air and Space Force members, Air National Guard, Reserve, and their spouses or children pursuing a college degree or flight training.
10. Destin Flight Works Pilot Training Scholarship
- Amount: Up to $10,000
- Eligibility: One AFA member annually for private pilot training, covering course fees, instructor costs, and aircraft rental.
11. The George and Vicki Mueller Foundation Scholarship
- Amount: $5,000 (two awards)
- Eligibility: Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings members pursuing college education.
