The AIST Foundation has officially opened applications for its Steel Intern Scholarship 2026, and it’s one of the most exciting, career-boosting scholarship-internship combos of the year for students in North America!

What’s on Offer?

Up to 50 scholarships worth US$7,500 each will be awarded to exceptional students for the 2025–2026 academic year, but here’s the exciting twist — the scholarship comes after a paid internship in Summer 2025 with a leading steel company in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.

And that’s not all — most internships come with housing support, making it easier for you to focus on what matters: building your future in the steel industry.


Who Can Apply?

This prestigious opportunity is open to:

  • Full-time sophomores (year 2), juniors (year 3), and seniors (year 4) entering graduate school (year 1)
  • Students who are citizens of the U.S., Canada, or Mexico
  • Those pursuing degrees in:
    • Engineering
    • Engineering Technology
    • Computer Science
    • Data Science
    • Environmental/Sustainability Science
    • Industrial Safety.
