Algeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2025 Now Available

The Ministry of Higher Education of Algeria has officially opened applications for its Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025–2026. This exciting opportunity is offered exclusively to Mauritian nationals, with five scholarships available for talented students aspiring to pursue undergraduate studies in Algeria.

Eligible Fields of Study

Selected candidates will have the chance to study in a wide range of disciplines, including:

  • Sciences et Technologies
  • Sciences de la Matière
  • Mathématiques et Informatique
  • Sciences de la Nature et de la Vie
  • Sciences Agronomiques
  • Sciences de la Terre et de l’Univers
  • Lettres et Langues Étrangères
  • Architecture
  • Urbanisme et Métiers de la Ville
  • Sciences Médicales (except medicine/dentistry)
  • Sciences Vétérinaires

Note: Medicine and dentistry are not covered under this scheme, except for nursing and veterinary medicine.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Hold SC/GCE ‘O’ Level with credit in at least 5 subjects at one sitting.
  • Have completed HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level in three subjects at Principal Level at one sitting, or possess equivalent qualifications.
  • Be under 25 years of age by the application closing date.
  • Provide a medical certificate confirming freedom from infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis) and proof of physical and psychological fitness.
  • Must be of Mauritian nationality.

A conversion grading scale is applied to ensure fair evaluation:

  • Grade B at HSC = minimum 14/20
  • Grade C at HSC = minimum 12/20
  • Grade D at HSC = minimum 10/20.

How to Apply?

Application forms are available from the Scholarships Section, Ministry of Education and Human Resource (MITD House, Pont Fer, Phoenix) or can be downloaded from the official website: https://publicnotice.govmu.org/publicnotice/?p=28462.

Applicants must submit the completed form along with:

  • Certified copies and originals of birth certificate, national ID/passport, and academic certificates
  • Transcripts/marksheets of final results
  • Four recent passport-sized photographs
  • Medical certificate
  • Any other supporting documents

For employed applicants, an additional copy of the form must be submitted to the employer for clearance and approval.

Important Deadline

The last date to apply for the Algeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2025–2026 is Wednesday, 27 August 2025 at 14:00 hrs.
