Apply Now for Cancer Foundation Finland Grants 2025

The Cancer Foundation Finland has officially opened its 2025 Call for Grant Applications, welcoming researchers and PhD students from around the world who are working on cancer-related studies in Finland. This is a major opportunity to secure funding for cutting-edge projects in medicine and health sciences.

What’s On Offer?

This year, the Cancer Foundation Finland is offering multiple types of grants:

  • Three Major Grants: Each worth €450,000, awarded over three years. These are non-targeted, meaning they can support any type of cancer research.
  • Research Grants: Available for one, two, or three years depending on the scope and need of the project.
  • Dissertation Grants: A one-time award of €4,000 to support PhD students working on cancer-related research.

Who Can Apply?

  • Researchers and doctoral candidates planning or conducting cancer research in Finland.
  • Applicants must not be affiliated with or funded by the tobacco industry (including nicotine product companies).
  • Applications must include: A detailed research protocol, a list of publications by the lead researcher (from 2015 to 2025).

Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted, and the system does not allow any edits after submission.

Important Dates to Remember

The application period for the Cancer Foundation Finland’s 2025 Call for Grant Applications will open on June 2, 2025, and close on August 20, 2025, at 23:59 Finnish time. All applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s electronic portal within this timeframe, as late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of the grant decisions in November 2025.
