The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has officially launched the Asidisi Media Scholarship Programme – 2025, an annual initiative aimed at empowering Sri Lankan journalists through professional development. If you’re in the media industry and have dreams of studying further—this could be your ticket!
Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is open to:
- Journalists aged 18 to 55
- Those employed in recognized media institutions (permanent, part-time, freelance, or provincial)
- Web journalists and media technicians
- Must have minimum 3 years of experience
- Must hold a valid 2025 Media Identity Card issued by the Department of Information
What’s On Offer?
Depending on your chosen course, here’s what you could receive:
- Rs. 200,000 for graduate or postgraduate programmes
- Rs. 100,000 for short or long-term certificate courses
The scholarship is paid out in three installments:
- 50% at course start
- 25% midway
- Final 25% upon successful completion and submission of your certificate
- Bonus: You can apply twice, with a five-year gap between awards!
