Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) CSC Scholarships 2026 Open

The 2026 application cycle for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program (Type A and B) at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is now officially open, marking a major opportunity for international students seeking funded higher education in China.

Established to deepen global cooperation, enhance cultural understanding, and strengthen academic exchange between China and other nations, this scholarship remains one of the most important entry routes for talented students and scholars aiming to pursue full academic degree studies or research in Chinese universities.

BLCU-CSC Scholarship Financial Support Package

The Chinese Government Scholarship 2026 Program at BLCU provides comprehensive support that covers full tuition fees, free university dormitory or a designated accommodation subsidy, and a monthly stipend tailored to each study category. Undergraduate students receive CNY 2,500 per month, while master’s students and general scholars receive CNY 3,000 per month.

Doctoral students and senior scholars are supported with a stipend of CNY 3,500 per month. In addition, recipients are provided with comprehensive medical insurance valued at CNY 800 per person per year, or CNY 400 for programs shorter than six months, ensuring strong financial and health-related support throughout their studies.

Supported Programs and Medium of Instruction

The scholarship supports a wide range of academic tracks, including undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, general scholar, and senior scholar categories. Each program combines its major study component with Chinese language preparatory training when necessary.

While many programs are offered in Chinese, BLCU also provides selected programs taught in other languages, and applicants must meet the university’s language standards accordingly. Chinese-taught programs requiring HSK compliance and programs requiring CSCA assessment follow clearly defined admission guidelines aligned with BLCU regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be citizens of countries other than the People’s Republic of China and must be in good physical and mental health. Eligibility is degree and age-specific: candidates for undergraduate studies must hold a high school diploma and be under 25, whereas master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35. Doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree and be under 40.

General scholars must hold at least a high school diploma and be under 45, while senior scholar applicants must possess a master’s degree or hold the rank of associate professor or above and be under 50. Bachelor’s applicants must take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA), while applicants to Chinese-taught postgraduate or senior scholar programs must meet HSK language requirements. Candidates for non-Chinese-taught programs must satisfy BLCU’s academic and language standards. Applicants must not receive any other Chinese government scholarship simultaneously.
