Boeing, a global leader in aerospace innovation, invites ambitious students to apply for its 2026 Specialty Program – Executive Flight Operations Maintenance Internship. This exclusive opportunity is based at Boeing’s Executive Flight Operations in Gary, Indiana, and is designed to give participants hands-on exposure to corporate aircraft maintenance while preparing them for future leadership roles in the aviation sector.
Why Choose Boeing?
For decades, Boeing has set the standard in aerospace engineering, connecting people across continents and even reaching beyond Earth. More than a workplace, Boeing offers a culture of innovation and collaboration where interns can explore, create, and contribute to projects that have real-world impact. Named among the Top 100 Internship Programs in the U.S. for 2025, this program continues to build a pipeline of skilled professionals ready to lead in the aerospace industry.
Compensation and Benefits of Internship
Boeing offers a competitive pay range of $54,000 – $74,000 annually (prorated for internship duration), reflecting candidate experience and qualifications. Interns are also eligible for Boeing’s Total Rewards package, which may include health coverage, retirement savings options, life and disability insurance, and paid leave benefits, depending on eligibility factors. For those relocating to Gary, Indiana, Boeing provides relocation assistance.
Program Overview
This 10–12 week internship is a structured experience that blends professional mentorship, technical training, and real maintenance responsibilities. Interns will work closely with Boeing mentors and maintenance leaders, gaining first-hand insights into what it takes to keep a corporate fleet operational and safe. With tasks ranging from scheduled inspections to unscheduled maintenance and ground operations, interns will be directly involved in ensuring the airworthiness of Boeing’s VIP aircraft.
Beyond technical experience, the program also emphasizes professional development. Interns will engage in networking events, team-building activities, and leadership discussions that help broaden their career horizons. This immersive environment ensures participants walk away with both technical expertise and a robust professional network.
Eligibility and Requirements
The internship is geared toward students who are actively pursuing their Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification. Applicants must be enrolled in a recognized maintenance program at a college or university, with graduation expected in August 2026 or later. A full-time commitment of 10–12 weeks during summer 2026 is required.
Preferred candidates will demonstrate strong academic performance (a GPA of 3.0 or above is recommended), leadership skills, and proven technical aptitude through previous projects, research, or internships. Enthusiasm for aviation, the ability to collaborate effectively in a team, and excellent communication skills are highly valued traits.
It is important to note that applicants must meet U.S. Export Control compliance requirements, which limits eligibility to U.S. persons (citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees). Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
