Application Timeline
For the Full Master’s and Full Doctorate programs, the application cycle begins with the indication of vacancies by Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), which will take place between July 4 and July 31, 2025. CAPES will then publish the official vacancy list on August 13, 2025, after which candidates can register according to the available positions from August 14 to September 29, 2025. The selection process by Brazilian HEIs will occur in multiple rounds, starting from September 30 until October 23, 2025. Once selections are made, the Pro-Rectorate of the HEIs and CAPES will carry out the final approval and document analysis by November 13, 2025. The final results will be published on November 14, 2025, with successful candidates beginning their studies in Brazil in the first half of 2026.
For the Sandwich Doctorate program, the timeline follows a slightly different path. Vacancies will be indicated by HEIs between July 4 and July 31, 2025, and CAPES will publish the consolidated vacancy list on September 30, 2025. Candidates will then be able to register between October 1 and December 30, 2025. The selection rounds by HEIs will be conducted in stages from January 5 to March 27, 2026, followed by final approval and document analysis by CAPES, which must be completed by April 24, 2026. The final list of selected candidates will be released on April 30, 2026, and the academic programs for the awarded scholars will officially commence in August 2026.
