Who Can Apply?
You must:
- Be a permanent resident of Brazil
- Be affiliated with Legal Amazon/Amazônia Legal universities or research centers
- Be an Early Career Researcher (PhD recently completed or near completion, not in a permanent academic role)
- Hold a first degree in science, computing, or engineering
- Demonstrate a background or interest in one of the research areas
- Fulfill UK visa and English language eligibility requirements
- Not be funded by any other UK source or belong to a for-profit organization.

Application Timeline
The application submission deadline for the British Council ISPF Early Career Fellowship (Brazil) is 15 August 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews by 31 October 2025, with final fellowship offers extended by 30 November 2025.
Successful applicants are expected to arrive in the UK between January and February 2026, and the fellowship will officially begin during February to March 2026. The fellowship will conclude one year later, between February and March 2027.
