In an exciting opportunity for politically minded young professionals across the globe, the German federal parliament has officially launched the 40th edition of its renowned International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) Program, inviting applications for the 2026 cohort.
This prestigious five-month program offers college graduates from over 50 countries a life-changing chance to experience Germany’s democratic governance up close in the heart of Berlin—from March 1 through July 31, 2026.
Organized in partnership with Berlin’s three top universities, the IPS Program is more than just a political internship. It is a cross-cultural, academic, and hands-on leadership-building initiative designed to nurture the next generation of international democratic change-makers.

- Work directly with a Member of the German Bundestag during a three-month political internship.

Who Can Apply?
This is a golden opportunity for candidates who:
- Are U.S. citizens (or from other participating countries),
- Hold an undergraduate degree (to be completed by December 31, 2025),
- Are under 30 years old as of March 1, 2026,
- Possess at least B2-level German proficiency,
- Have a strong interest in politics and a solid grasp of Germany’s political and societal structures.
