Canada-ASEAN Scholarships & Exchanges for Development 2025 – Apply Now!

The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) 2025 is now open for applications. This program offers fully funded short-term study or research opportunities for students from ASEAN member countries to study in Canada.

Who Can Apply?

  • Citizens of ASEAN countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam
  • Enrolled full-time at a university in an ASEAN country
  • Paying tuition fees to their home university throughout the exchange

Not eligible if: You hold or applied for Canadian citizenship/residency, are already studying in Canada, or have received this scholarship before.

Scholarship Benefits

  • $10,200 for study or research (4 months)
  • Covers visa fees, airfare, health insurance, accommodation, transport, and study materials
  • No tuition fees (if applying at the undergraduate level under a valid exchange agreement)

How to Apply?

Students cannot apply directly. Your university must nominate you, and a Canadian institution must submit the application on your behalf. Contact your university’s international office as soon as possible.

Application Deadlines

  • Application Deadline: March 31, 2025 (Canadian universities must submit applications on behalf of students)
  • Study Start: Fall 2025 (Arrival between August 1 – October 1, 2025)
