What is the Fellowship About?
This Chevening Fellowship is more than just an academic opportunity—it’s a strategic platform to contribute to the UK-China Energy Dialogue, engage in impactful research, and collaborate with one of the world’s leading institutions in energy law and policy.
Fellows will undertake a dedicated research project, gaining unrestricted access to all classes, seminars, and lectures at CEPMLP. You will also receive one-on-one academic supervision, guidance on your research goals, and a curated cultural experience through events arranged by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Chevening Secretariat.

Who Can Apply?
This exclusive fellowship is only open to applicants from China, and to be eligible, you must:
- Be a citizen of China and reside there currently
- Intend to return to China after the fellowship
- Hold a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience)
- Have at least five years of relevant experience in the energy field
- Be currently employed or enrolled as a PhD candidate (non-UK/EU/US institutions only)
- Not hold British dual nationality
- Not be currently employed by (or closely related to someone employed by) His Majesty’s Government, a sponsoring UK university, or the British Council.
