Scholarship Cover

Programme Overview

- Cyber Threats: Assessing threat landscapes, national security implications, governance structures, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
- Cyber Economy: Exploring online business models, consumer protection, adoption of open-source technologies, and challenges in technology uptake.
- Cyber-Crime and Law: Understanding the global fight against cyber-crime, internet law, privacy issues, social media misuse, and accountability in cyberspace.
- Regional and UK Contexts: Addressing unique cyber security challenges relevant to the UK and the Western Balkans.
This combination ensures that participants not only enhance their theoretical understanding but also gain practical knowledge applicable to their home countries.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this fellowship, candidates must:
- Be a citizen and current resident of one of the following: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, or Serbia.
- Commit to returning to their home country after the fellowship.
- Hold a postgraduate-level qualification or equivalent professional training/experience in a relevant field.
- Possess at least five years of relevant professional work experience in cyber security or cyber policy.
- Demonstrate significant expertise as a policy formulator, commentator, or academic.
- Have a strong working knowledge of English.
- Not hold British or dual British citizenship.
- Not be employed by or recently affiliated (within the last two years) with the UK Government, British Council, or a sponsoring university.
- Not have received a UK Government-funded scholarship (including Chevening) within the last five years.
