College of Medicine Tucson Imaging Scholarship 2024

Medical Imaging, in collaboration with the College of Medicine-Tucson and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, is excited to announce the opening of applications for the 2024-2025 Visiting Medical Student DEI Scholarship. This unique opportunity is geared toward out-of-state fourth-year medical students interested in a general radiology elective.

Since its inception, the DEI Committee has awarded the scholarship to four distinguished recipients. The scholarship aims to support diversity and inclusion within the field by reducing the financial burden on students from varied backgrounds.

The scholarship offers a $1,500 stipend to cover travel expenses such as transportation, lodging, and meals, with funds disbursed upon the submission of relevant receipts. Additional benefits include parking near the hospital, a $150 meal card, mentorship from residents and faculty, and extensive networking opportunities with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and various medical school affinity groups.

An important highlight of the scholarship is that all participants are guaranteed an interview for the residency program, although a residency position is not guaranteed.

Applications are to be submitted to Amy Jennings as per this notice https://medicalimaging.medicine.arizona.edu/news/visiting-medical-student-scholarship-opportunity, she is senior program coordinator, by June 3, 2024, at 8:00 AM PST.
