In a major boost for future cybersecurity professionals, the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) has officially opened applications for highly competitive, fully funded cybersecurity scholarships for the Fall 2026 intake.
This Cybersecurity scholarship is actually announced by the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education (CCRE). You should know that these US scholarships are designed for students— including eligible international applicants—who plan to pursue undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees in cybersecurity or closely related fields and are ready to commit to public-sector cyber defense careers after graduation.
What This Opportunity Covers for Fall 2026 Students?
The scholarships are offered under two nationally backed programs: the CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service (SFS) and the Department of Defense (DOD) Cyber Service Academy (CSA). Both programs are structured to remove financial barriers while training the next generation of cybersecurity experts for federal, state, and local government roles.
Students selected under the CyberCorps SFS program receive full coverage of tuition and mandatory fees, along with a generous annual living stipend of USD 27,000 for undergraduate students and USD 37,000 for graduate students. In addition, recipients are provided up to USD 6,000 per year to support professional development, travel, laptop purchases, and related academic expenses. The program supports up to two years of funding for bachelor’s and master’s degrees and up to three years for PhD studies, with a required paid internship during the summer term.
The DOD Cyber Service Academy scholarship offers similarly strong financial support. It covers 100% of tuition and fees and provides annual stipends of USD 27,000 for undergraduate students and USD 32,000 for graduate students. Additional benefits include a yearly book allowance and a laptop grant, with funding available for up to two academic years at the undergraduate or master’s level and extended support if the student continues into graduate studies. A key advantage of the CSA program is that recipients are matched with a Department of Defense employer immediately upon receiving the scholarship.
Applicants are allowed to apply to both programs through a shared application process, increasing their chances of selection.
