DARA PhD Fellowship Programme 2025 for Research Reviewers
The Danish Advanced Research Academy (DARA) is now accepting applications from experienced academics to serve as reviewers for its prestigious PhD Fellowship Programme 2025. This is a compelling opportunity to contribute to the advancement of interdisciplinary research addressing global challenges, while collaborating with an elite academic network from across the globe.
What Is DARA Looking For?
DARA aims to support a new generation of brilliant PhD researchers committed to scientific innovation, interdisciplinarity, and international cooperation. Reviewers will help evaluate applications in four main scientific domains:
- Natural and Technical Sciences
- Bioscience and Biomedicine
- Data and Computer Science
- Biotechnology.
Reviewer Compensation
Each reviewer will receive €70 per evaluation.
Reviewer Eligibility
To be eligible as a reviewer for the DARA PhD Fellowship Programme 2025, applicants must hold the academic rank of Associate Professor or higher, or possess an equivalent level of seniority in their respective fields. Additionally, reviewers must not have any affiliation with Danish institutions to ensure impartiality and maintain the integrity of the evaluation process.
Reviewer Responsibilities
As a DARA reviewer, you will:
- Evaluate applications based on Project Quality, Candidate Excellence, Feasibility, and Potential Impact
- Provide a numerical score (1–5) and brief written comments for each criterion
- Respect DARA’s Code of Conduct, including ethical standards and conflict-of-interest rules
- Uphold DARA’s commitment to fairness, academic rigor, and impartiality.
Each application contains:
- A research summary and 1,500-word proposal
- Motivation letter
- CV, academic transcripts, and a supervisor’s letter of support
- Optional: mentor CV and description of the research environment.
Application and Selection Timeline
The application and selection timeline for DARA PhD Fellowship reviewers begins on 12 September 2025, when review assignments will be distributed to selected reviewers. All evaluations must be completed and submitted through DARA’s online platform (https://www.ae-info.org/ae/Acad_Main/News/Call%20for%20Reviewers%20DARA%20PhD%20Fellowship%20Programme) by 15 October, 2025. Following this, consensus meetings will be held, and feedback from these discussions must be finalized by 31 October, 2025.
