What Type of Opportunity Is This?

The EACAT Scholarship is a privately funded monthly stipend scholarship designed to support Asian graduate students studying in Japan. Unlike large government-funded programs, this scholarship focuses on consistent monthly assistance, academic engagement, and community participation through mandatory monthly meetings organized by the foundation.

The scholarship is available exclusively for the 2026–2027 cohort, covering one full academic year from April 2026 to March 2027.

What the Scholarship Offers?

Successful applicants selected under the EACAT Privately Funded Scholarship will receive:

  • A monthly stipend of 30,000 yen
  • Financial support for 12 consecutive months
  • Coverage period from April 2026 to March 2027
  • Access to EACAT’s academic and networking environment, including regular foundation meetings
  • Opportunity to engage with fellow Asian postgraduate scholars in Japan.

This scholarship does not cover tuition fees but is intended to assist with living and study-related expenses during the academic year.

  • Must be able to read and write Japanese, as all application documents and communication are conducted in Japanese

  • Must be able to attend the mandatory monthly meeting, held on the second Saturday of each month
