ECNU Scholarship Sponsorship Package
The scholarship offered at ECNU is sponsored by ministry of education China as CSC scholarship type B which covers the following:
- Tuition Fee and Accommodation: Exemption from tuition and accommodation fees
- Monthly Stipend:
- Master’s Students: 3,000 RMB/month
- Doctoral Students: 3,500 RMB/month
- The stipend is provided by the host university each month within the scholarship duration.
- Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Full health coverage throughout the study period in China.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. Degree requirements differ based on the level of study: Master’s program applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent recognized by Chinese institutions, while Doctoral program applicants must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent.
Language proficiency is another key requirement. For Chinese-taught programs, applicants in liberal arts and economics majors must achieve a score of HSK5 (minimum 210) or HSK6 (minimum 180). For art, physical education, and science majors (excluding economics), a minimum score of HSK5 (180) is required. For English-taught programs, non-native English speakers must provide an English proficiency certificate, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 80.

- Online Application: Complete the ECNU International Student Application Form at http://lxsapply.ecnu.edu.cn. For CSC-ECNU scholarship applications, register and apply at China Scholarship Council’s portal (Type B for ECNU; institution code: 10269).
- Degree and Graduation Certificates: Scanned copies of degrees and diplomas (or proof of expected graduation for current students) in Chinese or English, or with a notarized translation.
- Official Academic Transcripts: For all previous academic work, translated into Chinese or English if necessary.
- Language Proficiency Certificate: HSK or other relevant proof for language requirements.
- Recommendation Letters: Two letters from scholars with an associate professor rank or above.
