Erasmus+ Internship Grants in Europe Open for 2026 Intake

The Erasmus+ Programme is now inviting applications for its 2026 intake of internship grants, offering students and recent graduates the chance to gain valuable work experience across Europe. Designed to strengthen academic and professional skills, the Erasmus+ traineeship scheme provides financial support for placements in both private and public institutions in participating countries.

Who Can Apply?

The Erasmus+ internship grant is open to bachelor’s and master’s students as well as graduates (up to 12 months after graduation). Applicants must be enrolled at the University of Passau at the time of applying or, for graduates, during their final term of study.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Bachelor’s students must have completed at least one semester and earned a minimum of 20 ECTS credits.
  • Master’s students can apply from their first semester.
  • Internships must last between 2 and 12 months and be full-time (at least 30 hours per week).
  • Applicants must demonstrate language proficiency in the working or national language of the host country.

Special provisions exist for teaching placements, where a 12-hour weekly teaching schedule counts as full-time work.

Benefits of the Grant

Funding is calculated according to the cost of living in the host country and is provided on a monthly basis:

  • Group 1 Countries (e.g., Denmark, Finland, Sweden): €750 per month
  • Group 2 Countries (e.g., France, Italy, Spain): €690 per month
  • Group 3 Countries (e.g., Poland, Romania, Turkey): €640 per month

Additional support is available for students with disabilities, chronic illnesses, children, or those who are first-generation graduates.
