The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Artificial Intelligence (EMAI) is now accepting applications for its 2025 intake. This prestigious two-year program offers a comprehensive education in AI, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications. The consortium comprises four leading European universities: Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) in Barcelona, Sapienza University of Rome, Radboud University in Nijmegen, and the University of Ljubljana.
Application Periods:
- Erasmus Mundus Scholarships (EMS) Candidates: November 15, 2024, to December 31, 2024, 23:59 CET.
- Tuition Fee Waiver Candidates: January 1, 2025, to March 18, 2025, 23:59 CET.
- Worldwide Self-Funded Candidates: March 19, 2025, to June 5, 2025, 23:59 CET.
- EU Self-Funded Candidates: June 6, 2025, to July 6, 2025, 23:59 CET.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should possess a strong background in computer science, software engineering, or applied mathematics. Degrees in related fields such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Physics are also considered. Specific prerequisites include:
- Mathematics Courses: Minimum of 12 ECTS in areas like calculus, linear algebra, logic, discrete mathematics, combinatorics, probability and statistics, information theory, graph theory, or number theory.
- Programming Courses: Minimum of 12 ECTS covering programming paradigms, algorithms, and data structures.
- Computer Science or Engineering Courses: Minimum of 12 ECTS in topics such as cryptography, security, computer networks, computer hardware, theoretical computer science, or similar.
Application Requirements:
- Identity Proof: Valid passport or identity card.
- Academic Credentials: Official bachelor’s or master’s degree and transcripts detailing courses and grades.
- Curriculum Vitae: Maximum of two pages in English.
- Motivation Letter: 600 to 800 words explaining the candidate’s interest in the program.
- Introduction Video: A one-minute video introducing the applicant and their background.
- Recommendation Letters: Two letters, preferably from academic referees.
- English Proficiency: Valid TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, or Cambridge certificate. Exemptions apply for degrees obtained from universities in specific English-speaking countries.

Selection Process:
The selection involves multiple stages:

- Interviews: Online interviews lasting 30-40 minutes for shortlisted candidates.
