The European Space Agency (ESA), in collaboration with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), has launched the ESA–SGAC Scholarship 2025 for students and young professionals from emerging countries.
This prestigious scholarship will take you all the way to Sydney, Australia to attend the 23rd Space Generation Congress (SGC) and the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) — and it’s fully funded!

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be an SGAC member, aged 18 to 35 (up to the day of your 36th birthday by October 3, 2025)
- Hold nationality or residence in an ESA Member State or Associate Member State:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Canada, and Slovenia - Be a student or young professional from an emerging country
- Apply individually (not as a group or team)
- Not receive funding from any other organization for attending SGC or IAC.

Both events will be held in Sydney, Australia, bringing together the brightest minds in global space exploration and innovation.
How to Apply?
Applicants must submit the following via the SGAC Scholarships Submission Form:
1# Two 1-minute videos (uploaded as unlisted YouTube links):

- Q1: “If you could address one aspect of Earth’s sustainability using space technologies or applications, what would you tackle first to build global resilience — and why?”
- Q2: “Why is this your most urgent priority, and how would you convince decision makers to act on it now?”
- Be visible and speaking in the video (at least 30 seconds), in landscape format (minimum 720p).
2# CV (max 2 pages) including your date of birth and a headshot.

The last date to submit your application for the ESA–SGAC Scholarship 2025 is July 20, 2025 at 23:59 GMT. Applications will be evaluated between July 21 and July 27, 2025, and the winner will be announced on August 1, 2025.
The selected participant must attend the 23rd Space Generation Congress (SGC) from September 25 to 27, 2025, and the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) from September 29 to October 3, 2025. The final report and video documenting the winner’s experience must be submitted no later than November 3, 2025.
