About the Fellowship
The ESR Curatorial Research Fellowship focuses on interpreting and advancing the work of Elaine Spatz-Rabinowitz, an acclaimed American visual artist. Known for her innovative blend of representation and abstraction, her artwork spans painting, photography, and sculpture. In 2007, she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for her mixed media explorations of war and violence. Her current artistic focus revolves around climate collapse, with hybrid works depicting fragmented Arctic landscapes.
The fellow will be responsible for researching galleries and museums, crafting a compelling narrative around Spatz-Rabinowitz’s body of work, and co-leading curatorial projects as necessary. Additionally, the fellow must make occasional visits to the artist’s studio in Cambridge, MA for in-person study of her original works.
