Europe’s Gap Year Scholarship 2026/27 Opens for Students Ready to Study Abroad

International mobility just became more accessible for students seeking academic and cultural exposure across Europe. The EDUC Alliance has officially opened applications for the Gap Year Student Scholarship 2026/2027, offering funded study mobility for University of Pécs students to spend a semester abroad at partner universities across Europe.

This physical mobility scholarship allows selected students to study at an EDUC partner university for up to 4.5 months while maintaining active enrollment at their home institution.

Funding Benefits for Selected Students

Students chosen for the EDUC Gap Year Scholarship will receive financial support and tuition-free study at the host university.

  • Monthly stipend: €600/month for France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Norway
  • Monthly stipend: €480/month for Czech Republic
  • One-time travel grant: €400 (Western Europe destinations)
  • One-time travel grant: €300 (Czech Republic)
  • Tuition-free study at host EDUC university
  • Cultural, academic, and language immersion experience
  • Opportunity to earn at least 30 ECTS credits during mobility

Note: The grant may not cover all living costs and may require supplementary personal funding.

Who Can Apply?

This scholarship is designed for currently enrolled students at the University of Pécs seeking international academic exposure. Eligible applicants must:

  • Be BA/BSc or MA/MSc students at the University of Pécs
  • Hold active student status during the mobility period
  • Not graduate before the end of the gap year mobility
  • Meet language requirements (B2–C1 depending on host university)
  • Demonstrate motivation, cultural openness, and academic purpose.

First-semester undergraduate students and those holding certain Hungarian government scholarships simultaneously are not eligible.

Program Timeline and Key Dates

Applications for the EDUC Gap Year Scholarship 2026/2027 are now open for the first semester intake. The last date to apply for the EDUC Gap Year Student Scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year is 13 March 2026 at 13:00 (CET). A professional committee will evaluate applications between 3–14 April 2026, and selected students will be notified via email after evaluation.
