France Opens High School Scholarship Applications for 2025–2026

France has officially opened the 2025–2026 National High School Scholarship Campaign for students in public, private, and distance education. This program offers means-tested financial assistance to help families support their child’s secondary school education. Whether you’re a French resident or an international family legally residing in France, this is your chance to benefit from a generous education support scheme backed by the French government.


2025–2026 Scholarship Application Campaign Dates

The official application period runs from September 1 to October 16, 2025, inclusive. The scholarship is available for students who are:

  • Enrolled in public or private high schools under contract
  • Attending Regional Adapted Education Establishments (EREA)
  • Studying remotely through the National Center for Distance Learning (CNED)

Note: This scholarship does not apply to university students enrolled in higher education.


Scholarship Amounts for 2025–2026

Based on your family’s income and number of dependents, students can receive one of six scholarship tiers:

Disbursement Schedule: Paid in three installments – December, March, and June.


Who Is Eligible?

  • Legal guardians (parents or court-appointed caretakers) of the student.
  • Students themselves, if they are legally of age or emancipated.
  • Income-based eligibility is calculated using the 2024 tax notice (Avis d’impôt) submitted in 2025.

How to Apply?

✅ Already Consented to Automatic Review in 2024?

Good news! If you opted for the automatic scholarship eligibility review last year, you don’t need to reapply. Your case will be re-evaluated this year without additional paperwork.

❌ Did Not Consent or Are New?

You must apply starting September 1, 2025:

  • Log in via the School Services Portal (EduConnect)
  • OR download the paper application form, attach all supporting documents, and submit it to:
    1. Your child’s school office (if public or private)
    2. The CNED scholarship services in Rennes (for general or technological programs) or Lyon (for vocational training).

All forms must be submitted (https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/actualites/A14944?lang=en) no later than October 16, 2025.


Additional Bonuses Available

France offers exclusive bonus payments to support students further:

  1. Equipment Bonus: €341.71 for first-year students in CAP, professional or technological baccalaureate, or technician’s certificate.
  2. Boarding School Bonus: €327–€672 automatically awarded to boarding students receiving a scholarship.
  3. Return to Study Bonus: €600 for students aged 16–18 returning to school after a 5+ month break.
  4. Merit-Based Bonus: €402–€1,002 for students who passed the National Brevet Exam (DNB) with a Good or Very Good grade.

The national high school scholarship application campaign in France for the 2025–2026 academic year will begin on September 1, 2025, and will run until October 16, 2025, inclusive.
