Fully Funded Slovakia National Scholarships for 2026/2027

Get ready, global scholars — Slovakia is once again opening its doors to bright minds across the world! Applications are now officially open for the National Scholarship Program (NSP) of the Slovak Republic, offering international students, PhD candidates, researchers, university teachers, and artists a golden chance to study, teach, or conduct research in one of Europe’s most culturally rich and affordable destinations.

A Prestigious Program Backed by the Slovak Government

Launched in 2005 and funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, the NSP stands as Slovakia’s flagship initiative to promote international mobility and academic excellence. Whether you’re a student eager to gain global exposure, a PhD researcher ready to deepen your expertise, or a creative artist looking for inspiration — this program welcomes you.

Participants receive comprehensive financial support to cover living expenses during their stay at a Slovak university or research institution. For students and PhD scholars, travel allowances are also available, making this a fully funded opportunity to study or research abroad without the burden of costs.

Who Can Apply?

The National Scholarship Program warmly invites applications from:

  • International university students (outside Slovakia) for study or research mobility.
  • PhD students looking to undertake part of their doctoral research in Slovakia.
  • University teachers, researchers, and artists seeking teaching or research collaboration in Slovak institutions.

The program also supports Slovak nationals who wish to pursue academic mobility abroad, continuing Slovakia’s commitment to fostering cross-border education exchange.

What Makes This Scholarship Unique?

Unlike many traditional grants, the NSP embraces a broad spectrum of disciplines — from sciences to humanities, and even creative arts. Its application process is open, transparent, and online at www.scholarships.sk, available in English, Slovak, Russian, French, and Spanish, ensuring accessibility for applicants worldwide.
