The University of Arkansas has officially opened applications for its Future Leaders, University, and Achievement Scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year. These prestigious scholarships are designed to recognize outstanding academic performance while supporting first-time undergraduate students in their higher education journey.
Scholarship Overview
The scholarships, which include the Future Leaders Scholarship, University Scholarship, and Achievement Scholarship, form part of the institution’s comprehensive academic funding policy. Each award is merit-based and highly competitive, offered according to GPA achievements, enrollment requirements, and available funds.
The Achievement Scholarship is valued at $6,500 annually, the University Scholarship at $4,500 annually, and the Future Leaders Scholarship at $2,000 annually. Awards cover tuition, mandatory fees, and housing support, with recipients required to reside in university housing to receive the full package.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must:
- Be first-time entering undergraduate students at the University of Arkansas.
- Be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens.
- Submit required documentation to the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services by the deadlines.
- Meet the minimum GPA requirement based on their 6th or 7th semester high school transcript:
- Achievement Scholarship: 4.000 GPA
- University Scholarship: 3.750 GPA
- Future Leaders Scholarship: 3.500 GPA
- Early high school graduates may qualify based on their 4th or 5th semester transcript.
Application Deadlines
The last date to apply for the Achievement Scholarship is January 26, 2026, while applications for the University Scholarship and the Future Leaders Scholarship will remain open until May 4, 2026.
Enrollment and Renewal Conditions
Scholarship recipients must remain enrolled in a minimum of 15 credit hours each semester and maintain good academic standing as defined by the UCA Undergraduate Bulletin. Renewal is contingent upon credit hour completion and GPA benchmarks:
- After the first year, students must complete at least 27 credit hours with a GPA ranging from 2.75 to 3.25 depending on the scholarship level.
- In subsequent years, students must earn 30 credit hours annually with cumulative GPA requirements of 2.75 (Future Leaders), 3.00 (University), or 3.25 (Achievement).
Failure to meet requirements may result in loss of the scholarship, with no reinstatement options available.
Additional Information
The scholarships apply only to in-state tuition, housing, and mandatory fees directly assessed by the university. Costs of summer courses and graduate-level classes are not covered. Awards are renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters or until the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.
UCA Honors College Scholarships
In addition to these awards, the Schedler Honors College and Schedler Honors Program offer enhanced funding opportunities, including stipends and private housing upgrades, with deadlines set for January 26, 2026. The Honors College application opens on September 1, 2025.
