Are you an accomplished international researcher eager to expand your global network and engage with one of Germany’s top academic institutions? The University of Bonn has officially opened the call for applications for its prestigious Bonn International Fellowships 2025 — a unique opportunity for short-term funded research visits.
About the Fellowship Program
The Bonn International Fellowships are designed to bring excellent scholars from all disciplines to the University of Bonn for up to 12 days of academic exchange, collaboration, and public engagement. The program aims to strengthen international partnerships and create long-term collaborative research projects between the visiting fellow and their Bonn host.
Fellows are expected to participate actively in the academic life of the university—through public lectures, seminars, or colloquiums—and help establish or deepen ties between their home institutions and Bonn.
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is open to postdoctoral and senior-level researchers who:
- Work and conduct research outside of Germany
- Have a strong international academic reputation
- Are formally invited by a faculty member at the University of Bonn
- Are not previous recipients of this fellowship
Note: Individual scholars cannot apply independently. Applications must be submitted by the University of Bonn host who intends to invite the fellow.
What’s Funded?
The fellowship includes:
- Travel allowance based on the fellow’s country of origin
- €160 per day for up to 12 days (includes arrival and departure days)
- Event material expenses up to €500 per proposal (e.g. catering, outreach, PR)
