Scheduled across several sessions between April and November 2026, the program is designed for individuals planning to study at German universities, work in qualified professions in Germany, or improve their German language skills for professional advancement. The courses focus heavily on real communication skills rather than just grammar, allowing participants to quickly gain fluency through immersive teaching methods.

Participants attend around 100 lessons per course session, supported by modern digital classrooms, interactive learning tools, and optional online participation through hybrid teaching technology. Students attending on-site must complete at least 50% of the course physically in Berlin, while still having the flexibility to join certain sessions online.

The program also integrates academic counseling, company visits, cultural exploration activities, and guidance for university entrance examinations such as TestDaF, DSH, and telc C1 Hochschule, making it particularly valuable for international applicants planning long-term academic or career pathways in Germany.

In addition, selected participants may finance their participation through DAAD scholarships, which are designed to support international learners attending recognized German language and academic programs.

Financial Plan: What Funding and Support Participants Can Expect

Participants enrolling in the Berlin Summer Courses may be able to finance their participation through the DAAD Language Course Scholarship, which provides financial assistance for international students and professionals attending approved German language programs.

Financial support may include:

  • Monthly scholarship stipend to cover living expenses in Germany
  • Contribution toward intensive German language course tuition fees
  • Partial coverage of accommodation expenses during the course period
  • Travel allowance for international participants depending on country of origin
  • Health insurance coverage during the scholarship period in Germany

The exact funding structure depends on the DAAD scholarship allocation and applicant eligibility, as the Berlin Summer Course itself does not specify a fixed number of awards.
