GREAT Scholarships 2026 at University of Manchester

The UK is officially back in full scholarship-attraction mode for 2026, and one of its most prestigious universities has joined the race for global talent. In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Manchester has announced GREAT Scholarships 2026—a high-value funding opportunity designed to help outstanding international students step into world-class UK postgraduate education.

For applicants from Bangladesh, Ghana, and Pakistan, this is a direct pathway into a globally ranked UK university with major financial relief for one-year taught master’s programmes.

What This Scholarship Brings to the Table?

These awards are part of the wider GREAT Scholarships 2026 initiative, supporting postgraduate students across more than 60 UK universities. At Manchester, the funding is substantial and immediately applied to your tuition.

Successful scholars will receive:

  • A tuition fee reduction of £15,000 to £18,000, depending on country
  • Funding applied directly as a discount on overseas tuition fees
  • Eligibility across most on-campus, full-time taught master’s programmes
  • Study at a top-tier UK institution with global employability outcomes

Country-specific awards available at Manchester:

  • Bangladesh: 1 scholarship worth £15,000
  • Ghana: 1 scholarship worth £18,000
  • Pakistan: 1 scholarship worth £15,000

Excluded programmes include MBA, MPhil, Architecture-related degrees, PGCE, Clinical Medicine, Dentistry, and all listed MSc by Research programmes.

Who Can Apply (and Who Should Pay Attention)

This scholarship is targeted, competitive, and merit-focused. It is built for students who already have their academic direction clear and are serious about studying in the UK.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen and permanent resident of Bangladesh, Ghana, or Pakistan
  • Hold a valid passport from the eligible country
  • Have a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible one-year taught master’s programme at the University of Manchester
  • Be willing to act as a GREAT ambassador and engage in alumni or promotional activities if selected

Only applicants meeting both the nationality and offer-holder requirements will be considered.

How the Application Process Works?

The process is intentionally streamlined. You do not apply separately on an external portal.

Once you receive an eligible course offer, the University of Manchester’s International Office will email you the GREAT Scholarship application form directly. You simply complete and submit the form before the deadline. Selection is competitive and based on academic merit and overall profile strength.
