Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a leading institution in Qatar, has officially announced the opening of its scholarship applications for the class of 2026. These opportunities are designed to support outstanding students from across the globe in pursuing their graduate studies in a dynamic and world-class environment.
HBKU Spring 2026 Batch Scholarship Benefits
HBKU offers generous financial support to graduate students, covering both tuition and living expenses. Depending on the program, students may receive:
Full or partial tuition waivers:

- PhD STEM (CSE & CHLS): 100% waiver (worth 4,000 QAR per credit).
- PhD SHAPE & S.J.D.: 100% waiver (worth 2,500 QAR per credit).
- STEM Master’s programs: 75% waiver.
- SHAPE Master’s, MA programs, and J.D.: 60% waiver.
Monthly stipends:

- International PhD students: 9,000 QAR (approximately $2,460) for up to 45 months.
- International Master’s students: 7,000 QAR (approximately $1,915) for up to 21 months.
- Qatari and local students also receive competitive stipends.
Additional support:

- One round-trip airfare (inbound at the start of the program and outbound after graduation).
- Opportunities for paid work as Research Assistants (RAs) and Teaching Assistants (TAs).

Conditions and Responsibilities
Scholarships are awarded on a merit or need basis and depend on the availability of funds. Full-time graduate students are required to work as Research Assistants for 10 hours per week with their primary supervisors. They may also serve as Teaching Assistants for up to 10 hours per week, paid at 50 QAR per hour.
Additionally, students can engage in the Student Employment Program for up to 10 hours of work per week. It is important to note that housing is not covered by the university and must be managed by students through their stipend or personal funds.
