Heyning Roelli Foundation Scholarships 2026 Spring Intake for Exchange Students

The Heyning-Roelli Foundation has once again opened applications for its mobility scholarships designed to support talented but economically disadvantaged Bachelor’s and Master’s students. Since its establishment 13 years ago, the foundation has already supported over 1,047 students from 42 countries, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent ambitious young scholars from pursuing international study opportunities.

The upcoming call targets students planning their exchange semester in Spring 2026, with the application deadline set for October 20, 2025.

Scholarship Package Is Offering Following Plan

The foundation offers partial scholarships to help students cover financial gaps in their budget during their exchange. Unlike full scholarships, these grants are designed to supplement existing resources and ensure students can successfully undertake their semester abroad. Other scholarships received by applicants are considered in the calculation to fairly determine the grant amount.

Eligibility Benchmarks

To qualify for the Heyning-Roelli scholarship, applicants must:

    • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at a Swiss university or at a foreign university in an eligible exchange program.
    • Be planning to study at a partner university for one or two semesters, or be invited to write a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis abroad.
    • Maintain their enrollment status at their home university throughout the exchange and return after completion.
    • Be registered at the host university as an exchange student (not as part of a double-degree program).

Not Eligible:

  • Students enrolled in universities of applied sciences.
  • Students who have already completed an exchange, are in a double-degree program, or are applying retroactively after the exchange has started.
