The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has officially opened applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) 2026–2028, an exceptional opportunity for women worldwide to advance their studies in nuclear-related fields. This prestigious programme is designed to strengthen female participation in nuclear science, technology, and innovation, while offering both financial support and professional growth opportunities.

About the Fellowship

The MSCFP supports female students from IAEA Member States who are pursuing a master’s degree in nuclear-related disciplines. The programme covers areas such as nuclear engineering, physics, chemistry, radiation biology, nuclear medicine, safety, security, non-proliferation, and nuclear law. Its mission is to prepare the next generation of women leaders in nuclear science and ensure greater gender diversity in this crucial sector.

IAEA Scholarship Package

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Up to €20,000 per academic year for tuition fees.
  • Up to €20,000 per academic year for living expenses.
  • The possibility of internship placements with the IAEA or partner institutions to gain hands-on professional experience.

This support ensures fellows can fully dedicate themselves to their studies without financial barriers, while also benefitting from international exposure and training opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be female nationals from an IAEA Member State.
  • Be accepted into or enrolled in a recognized master’s programme in a nuclear-related field.
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance with proof of admission or enrolment.
  • Submit all required documents, including an identification document, admission letter, tuition fee details, and at least one academic reference.

Application Timeline

Applications for the IAEA Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship 2026–2028 cycle are currently open, and the deadline to apply is 31 October 2025. The fellowship will support studies for the academic years 2026/2027 and 2027/2028.
