ICP Connect Belgium Scholarships Opening Soon in October 2025 – Get Ready
Students from Africa, Asia, and Latin America will soon be able to apply for the ICP Connect Scholarships, as the next application round is set to open at the end of October 2025 for the 2026 academic session. These scholarships provide international students the chance to pursue accredited English-taught study programmes at Flemish universities and universities of applied sciences and arts.
Opportunity for Global Students
The ICP Connect scholarships, coordinated by VLIR-UOS, are designed to empower students from 30 eligible countries to contribute to sustainable development in their home regions. The scholarships fully cover tuition, travel, insurance, and living expenses for the complete duration of selected programmes, ranging from one to three (03) years.
ICP Connect Belgium Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the ICP Connect scholarship will receive:
- Full tuition fee coverage
- Travel costs to and from Belgium
- Comprehensive insurance
- Monthly living allowance for board and lodging
These scholarships are awarded for the entire duration of the study programme. Partial funding or extensions are not available.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Nationality & Residence: Candidates must be nationals and residents of one of the 30 eligible countries.
- Age Limit: Applicants for bachelor or initial master’s programmes must be under 35 years old on 1 January 2026. For advanced master’s programmes, the age limit is 45 years.
- Professional Background: Preference will be given to candidates working in higher education, government, or civil society. Fresh graduates and those in the private sector may also be considered if they demonstrate strong motivation.
- Restrictions: Candidates can apply for only one ICP Connect programme per year and must not have previously studied in Belgium or received a Belgian government scholarship.
Selection Criteria
The evaluation process emphasizes more than just academic merit. Key factors include:
- Motivation & Commitment: Applicants must clearly show how their studies will allow them to act as “agents of change” in their home country.
- Professional Experience: Those with a higher potential to apply newly acquired knowledge in sustainable development contexts will be prioritized.
- Diversity Measures: Gender balance, regional representation, and the inclusion of candidates from vulnerable groups are core considerations.
