Introduction of This UMS Scholarship

The UMS International Priority Scholarship is a degree-seeking scholarship offered by Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Indonesia, aimed at attracting high-potential international students—particularly from developing countries—to pursue full-time higher education in a multicultural academic environment. The scholarship supports students at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels, combining financial assistance with academic and cultural integration.

This opportunity will remain valid for students enrolling in the 2026–2027 academic cycle, with study durations aligned to each degree level.


What does the Scholarship Offer?

The scholarship is offered under Fully Funded and Partially Funded schemes, depending on applicant merit and program placement. For Fully Funded awardees, the coverage typically includes:

  • Full tuition fee waiver
  • Monthly living allowance of IDR 1,750,000
  • Monthly book allowance of IDR 50,000
  • Health insurance and on-campus health services
  • Visa fees and Limited Stay Permit
  • Return international airfare
  • Free one-year Bahasa Indonesia (BIPA) language course for Regular Program students

For Partially Funded recipients, benefits may include tuition reduction and selected academic support services.


Study Duration Covered Under the Scholarship

  • Bachelor’s degree: up to 8 semesters
  • Master’s degree: up to 4 semesters
  • Doctoral degree: up to 6 semesters

Students can choose from a wide range of programs across faculties such as Communication, Informatics, Economics, Business, and Education, with instruction offered in Bahasa Indonesia or English, depending on the program and class type.
