Jinan University, in collaboration with the Chinese Government, is excited to offer the “Silk Road” Scholarship Program as part of the Chinese Government Scholarship initiative. 01 – Application Qualification Requirements

Nationality: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports from countries part of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. For a complete list of eligible countries, please visit: Belt and Road Initiative Countries.

Educational Background and Age Limit:

• • Bachelor’s Degree Applicants: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be under 25 years old.
  • Master’s Degree Applicants: Should have an undergraduate degree equivalent to a bachelor’s from a Chinese university and be no more than 35 years old.
  • Doctoral Degree Applicants: Must hold a master’s degree equivalent to a Chinese master’s and be no more than 40 years old.

Language Requirements:

• • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 with a minimum score of 180.
  • English-taught programs: IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL score of 90.

Scholarship Exclusivity: Applicants should not be recipients of any other types of Chinese Government Scholarships simultaneously.

02 – Scholarship Sponsorship

The scholarship includes:

• Full tuition waiver
• Free on-campus accommodation
• Comprehensive medical insurance
• Monthly living allowance

03 – Application Process

Chinese Government Scholarship Online Application:

• • Visit the Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System.
  • Select “Category B” and use Jinan University’s agency code: 10559.
  • Complete and submit all required information and application materials.

Jinan University Online Application:

• • Undergraduate Applicants: Log in to Jinan University & Huaqiao University Joint Admissions System, complete the application, and upload all necessary documents.
  • Graduate Applicants: Access Jinan University Graduate Admissions System, fill out the Silk road scholarship application form, and submit all required documents online.

Qualification Review and Interview: Jinan University will review submitted documents and conduct interviews via telephone or remotely for candidates who pass the preliminary screening. Ensure that all contact information provided is accurate and reliable.

Scholarship Nomination and Final Review: Successful candidates will be nominated for the “Silk Road” scholarship and forwarded to the China Scholarship Council (CSC) for final approval.

Scholarship Results Announcement: Results will be available through the CSC website. Jinan University will also notify selected students.
