The Karsh International Scholarship, founded in 2010 through the generosity of Martha L. and Bruce A. Karsh, recognizes the exceptional contributions of international scholars at Duke University. This scholarship is awarded to intellectually and civically engaged international students who promote interdisciplinary inquiry, academic research, and scholarship in the service of society.

Benefits

The Duke university’s Karsh scholarship covers:

  • Tuition, room, and board.
  • Mandatory fees.
  • Demonstrated need that exceeds those costs.
  • Funding for three summers for research, unpaid internships, and other opportunities that advance academic careers.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Karsh International Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be international students (citizens of countries outside the U.S.).
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Apply to Duke University and request financial aid. There is no separate application for the scholarship.

Note: Students with dual U.S./other country citizenship and those who already have a B.A. or B.S. degree are not eligible.

  1. Apply to Duke University: Submit your application to Duke University and request financial aid as per this call letter https://ousf.duke.edu/merit-scholarships/karsh-international-scholars-program/
  2. Complete Financial Aid Forms: Ensure all financial aid forms are completed and submitted online through the Duke Financial Aid website.

As per previous year trends the application deadlines for Fall 2025 is anticipated to be:

  • Regular Decision: Early January 2025
