About the Karsh International Scholars Program

Established to recognize exceptional academic ability, leadership, and commitment to cross-cultural engagement, the Karsh International Scholars Program is open exclusively to international students who are applying for undergraduate studies at Duke. Scholarship Benefits

Successful recipients of the Karsh International Scholarship will receive:

  • Full tuition coverage for the duration of the degree.
  • Room and board expenses fully covered.
  • Mandatory university fees paid in full.
  • Additional funding to cover any demonstrated financial need.
  • Three (03) years of summer funding for research, unpaid internships, and other academic or career-related opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Karsh International Scholars Program, applicants must:

  • Be international students (non-U.S. citizens with no dual U.S. citizenship).
  • Be first-time undergraduate applicants to Duke University.
  • Have a strong academic record and demonstrated leadership potential.
  • Show financial need as determined through required financial aid documents.
  • Not already hold a B.A. or B.S. degree.

Application Process

No separate scholarship application is required. Students are automatically considered when they:

  1. Apply to Duke University for undergraduate admission.
  2. Apply for Karsh Scholarship: https://ousf.duke.edu/merit-scholarships/karsh-international-scholars-program/
  3. Submit required financial aid forms (CSS Profile and, if applicable, FAFSA).

Applicants are encouraged to prepare early to ensure all documents are complete before the deadlines.


Application Deadlines for Fall Karsh Program 2026 Entry

For the Fall 2026 intake of the Karsh International Scholars Program, Early Decision applicants must submit the CSS Profile by November 4, 2025, while Regular Decision applicants are required to submit the CSS Profile, along with the FAFSA if applicable, by February 1, 2026.
