KTH Scholarship Coverage

  • Full tuition fee for the first and second year of a master’s programme at KTH.
  • Continuation into the second year requires satisfactory academic results from the first year.
  • Living costs are not included, and students should plan their finances accordingly.

Eligible Programmes

The KTH scholarship applies to:

  • All two (02) year master’s programmes at KTH.
  • Joint master’s programmes in Molecular Techniques in Life Science and Biostatistics and Data Science.
  • One-year master’s programme in Architectural Lighting Design.

Not eligible:

  • Joint Erasmus+ and EIT programmes.
  • Joint programme Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering (however, some applicants may be eligible for the KTH Joint Programme Scholarship).

  • Be a fee-paying student.
  • Apply for a master’s programme at KTH as your first priority via universityadmissions.se.
  • Pay the application fee.

Application Process

  1. Apply for a master’s programme at KTH via https://www.kth.se/en/studies/master/admissions/scholarships/kth-scholarship-1.72827.
  2. Once the scholarship application period opens, fill out the online scholarship application form on the KTH website.
  3. No additional documents are needed – KTH will access your programme application documents during evaluation.

Selection Criteria

The selection process runs parallel to the master’s admissions process and is based on:

  • Academic excellence (GPA or equivalent).
  • Ranking of the university where your bachelor’s degree was earned.
  • Relevant extracurricular research, publications, work or teaching experience, awards, and other notable achievements.
  • A clear, compelling motivation on how you will contribute to sustainable development goals with your KTH master’s degree.

The application period for the KTH Scholarship will open on 1 December 2025 and close on 15 January 2026. The results of the scholarship selection will be announced on 26 March 2026.
